Private driver picked us up at 830. We were told the drive was suppose to take approximately 6 hrs. Shortly after departing Vang Viang guess what happened ? If u recall the previously posted pictures regarding the roads and what's on them!!!! Yes, we hit a cow and sadly it was a calf. Good news is that we were going slow enough after braking that we gave it a good nudge. Shortly after, it got up and ran away. It seemed fine for you animal lovers. The driver was not impressed and got out to see the damage...luckily there was none.
Then we stopped for some oranges.........
Then some sort of vegetables.....
Then to let the engine cool off.....
The road became quite steep and lots of sharp corners. The views were stunning.
We arrived at our guest house in Luang Prabang 41/2 hrs later ( better then the 12 hour bus runs that often break down)
