BOO HOO HOO HOO!!!

All good things must come to an end…or so I've been told!  We have started our slow journey home but I think we were receiving a sign that the island wanted us to stay longer!?  There was a road closure on the island which caused our taxi to be an hour late….we made our way to Catliclan airport with 45 minutes to spare before our flight was to depart.  Upon check-in we were told our flight was cancelled…OMG right?  Now what…it was the last flight off the island!  "No problem Mam, you are going to fly from Kalibo now!"  OH great, our consumption of gravol started, one of us were doomed to get car sick.  We jumped into a mini van…starving…to drive 1.5 hrs to Kalibo Airport….but what got us all excited next was FOOD…they brought us our favourite chicken from the island! YUM!  Finally reached Kalibo Airport (loved the drive, beautiful country) to learn our flight was delayed….but we finally made it to Manila!!!!
Wow, how beautiful is that?

dreading the ride!

off to Manila!! The only one that is happy is Sherry! ha
No she's not…she's just faking it!

Now for the 21 hour journey home!!

PARAW SAILING!

First thought about taking this little 2 hour cruise around the island is that it would be relaxing….maybe even boring!? Well, it wasn't relaxing or boring!  If only I had a water-proof camera to capture this ride!  Sherry of course was viewing this as an adventure……and an adventure it was! Who knew?  The Paraw is a local sailboat with 2 sails and 2 outriggers and is seen everywhere around the island.  The captain said it was a great day to go sailing, the winds were good….so we rolled up on to the boat and off we went!

second thought…I hope that mesh doesn't come apart!

getting the sails ready…I wonder if he has ever fallen off?

getting close to the end of the island before we turn and move to the other side….it was a good time to put the camera away as the water was getting rough.

Once we rolled around that corner that's when all hell broke loose! Moments later Sherry was fully immersed in the water, gripping on for dear life!  The sailboat tipped to one side and Sherry was screaming "OMG NIKKI", I was laughing my ass off while staying dry and flying high!  The crew was very concerned for her "Mam, are you ok Mam?" Once she confirmed she was good and her heart rate came down a notch they all started laughing…….this was just the beginning!  Soon after we were sailing on 15 ft waves "Mam, hang on" the captain said. So much for staying dry….we were drenched!!  Sherry asked the captain if one of these boats have ever broke….he assured her all was good!  Sherry stayed laying down for the remaining of the trip, white knuckling it all the way (i think she is still suffering from sore muscles)!   Third thought….if I fall off am I going to die? Fourth thought…why are we the only sailboat out here? Fifth thought……good thing the girls aren't with us!  Once back on land Sherry did admit she was a little scared at times! All and all it was extremely fun with lots of laughs!  Next time I think I will just stick with the sunset cruise!!!!!

HELLO FROM BORACAY, PHILIPPINES!!!!!!

We have arrived!!!!  Unfortunately the sun did not follow us!  The sky is heavy with clouds but the temperature is still quite nice!  Just having coffee on the deck watching the kite Boarders!

This place will look amazing if the sun ever shines!

We decided to rent a house in Boracay as it was just too much $$$ to get 2 rooms at a hotel.  Although this place isn't on White Sand Beach, it's only a 10 minute walk there…and last I checked walking never killed anyone…..except maybe a couple teenagers!!! We will be doing our usual….walking to the beach and grabbling a motorcycle taxi back as the climb up to the house may actually kill someone!
